The Toy Shop ![]() Here you'll find cars, both antique and sportscars on the lower shelf. The upper shelf contains miniature action figures. Some of the figures from left to right are from Aladdin - Jafar, Princess Jasmine, Aladdin, The Genie; From Batman - Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Batman, Robin, Mr. Freeze and the Scarecrow and from Star Trek - the names escape me.
Here's another shot of the front counter. On the left, is another gumball bank. This one is a magnet, which can be found at Walmart and Lechter's. To the right of the gumball bank, you'll find a dollcase. I saw one at a miniatures show and tried to reproduce it. Click HERE for a close-up. You can also see the Life game box (keychain by Basic Fun) and the Life game board (formerly a Christmas ornament).
On the counter top from left to right are an FAO Schwarz shopping bag, filled with a mod Barbie case. Click HERE for the directions, a reproduction Barbie Bazaar and a reproduction vintage Barbie case. In front of the bag, you'll find a miniature See 'n Say made by Mattel, two miniature Barbie boxes - Malibu Barbie and Malibu Ken, a cash register, a miniature Elmer --Click HERE for Raz's instructions and a gumball bank. Even Barbie is working at this shop, and holding an FAO credit card to take in payment.
Here's another shot of the back counter. You can find a modern Skipper Barbie box. Click HERE for the directions. There are also small bears, which I found at Kaybee and Toy Liquidators in 1999 packaged two for $2.50. I discarded the outfits. You can also see the reproduction Mystery Date game made by Rebecca Brosdahl, more miniature action figures from popular Disney movies. From left to right - Cinderella, Aladdin, Pocohantas, Hunchback of Notre Dame and Mickey Mouse. There's a cordless phone and a pencil can. In the foreground, you'll see two more gameboards. The left is a Trivial Pursuit game and the right is a Monopoly gameboard. These were both formerly Christmas ornaments. There's a box of facial tissue. Click HERE for a close up of the box.
This is probably my favorite area of the shop. It's a shelf filled with miniature reproduction Barbie boxes representing furniture produced in the late 70's or early 80's. The detail is amazing and shown on all sides. The bottom shelf is filled with small colorful robots. The shelf actually housed 10 small robots and was the display that they were sold with. I knew I would eventually find a use for it. This goes to show, 'never throw anything out'! |
