Preschool
Here's
a scene I set up about 10 years ago. It's a preschool, in
which Barbie is attempting to read to 4 small children, however Skipper
and Stacie have come to visit. This
scene was set up simply enough with a contact paper border cut from
plaid elephants that I overlapped into a follow the leader type
pattern. It covered up some of the imperfections in the dollhouse
that housed this scene. I used more contact paper elephants to
add some random character to the walls. The
carpeting is easy to aquire. I found a carpet store that left its
scraps and remmants from installation jobs in a bin behind the
store. These are the perfect sizes for scenes and dioramas.
The scraps are easily cut with a box cutter, but use caution! The chalkboard, world map, and two
student desks were included with Teacher Barbie, as was her
outfit. The locker was purchased at a discount store and is
fairly oversized. There'd be no way to display more of these in
the small space. The small round table was purchased at a dollar
store and is truly 1:12 scale, but perfect for little ones. The
terribly outdated computer and the oversized globe were also purchased
from a dollar store. The boom box on top of the locker is a
refrigerator magnet. The two lunchboxes were purchased from a
novelty store and began life as a keychain. I have since removed the
chain.
