Halloween Party 1999

Halloween Party 1999

These Kelly friends are enjoying the favored pastime of bobbing for apples.  The table is actually a dollhouse miniature.  The metal bucket is also a dollhouse miniature, but it's filled with Kitchen Littles apples and water.

The Kelly friends were purchased as Target exclusives in 1999.  The witch in the top left was a swap that I received in 1997.

The bales of hay, which make the perfect seats were purchased at Joann Fabrics.

The Halloween treat baskets they are holding are light covers purchased from the Dollar Tree store.  These have been available for the past few years.  I glued a strip of black ribbon around the outer rim and a piece of ribbon inside to provide a handle.

The Teresa serving at the table was a gift from my friend, Lori in Canada.  She's outfitted in a 20's flapper outfit that Lori customized.

In the background you can see that I painted a bookcase on the backdrop.  I used polyester cobwebbing to give that 'haunted house' appearance.

To the right of the doll, you'll see a china breakfront.  This was actually made for the Sindy doll, but is the perfect size for any fashion doll and looks very realistic too!

Inside the china cabinet are two magnets:  an antique radio and a mantle clock.  These were found at the Dollar Tree Store.  The other gold and silver-tone accessories were found in Mattel playsets.

The serving table pictured is just a table from a Mattel playset. I covered it with black fabric and then a circle of netting with gold dots.  It provides a festive look for the treats!

The winding stairwell on the left was part of a Mattel structure.

The Barbie in the foreground is wearing a vest that I created from a 70's pattern.  She's holing a great bear that I discovered at Target in 1999.  They were sold in sets of two.  One set contained a bear in a pumpkin outfit and the other in a vampire cape.  Another set contained a bear dressed as a devil and one in a wizard outfit.  What a deal at $2.99 per set and the legs are jointed.

Malibu Barbie & Ken are dressed as Martha and George Washington.

Ken & Midge are dressed in the vintage Masquerade costumes.

PJ was a gift from my friend, Sheryl.  Her hair has been restyled and she's wearing a festive outfit for the occasion.
